I love breakfast, but I'm the complete opposite of a morning person. This is why I'm all for breakfast foods at midnight, but that's not the point. I love oats, but can't be bothered making them from scratch in the morning. This recipe is super simple to make the night before, and it's a good meal to start your day with. It also kind of feels like dessert for breakfast. My sister's been bugging me for the recipe, so I figured why not share it with the entire internet?
I've seen a bunch of recipes floating around, and some of them have a ridiculous amount of ingredients in them. From chia seeds to greek yoghurt to bananas, it was a bit much. This is the simplest version I've come across and it's delicious.
I'll admit, I definitely normally eat them out of the jar. But that's not very aesthetic.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup quick oats
1/4 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup
cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
Method:
1. Throw all the ingredients into a jar and mix well. Leave overnight.
2. In the morning, top with some fresh fruit and enjoy. It's seriously that easy.
Pro Tip: Save your empty peanut butter jar and make your oats in that (I triple or quadriple the recipe when I do this). Every last drop of peanut butter is precious.
Enjoy!
