It's been a couple months since I've reviewed new products, and that's honestly because I've been super frugal with my spending lately. I've only bought skincare I truly needed, though I'm definitely now running out of a few things.
I was kindly gifted some of these wipes before my travels and they were a lifesaver. While I'm still not a huge fan of face wipes and prefer to double cleanse, sometimes you just need an easy option. These are also far better than traditional face wipes because they're not soaked in alcohol and don't harm the environment.
Wildcraft Care Oil Cleanser:
After spilling my oil cleanser while travelling, I ended up going a few weeks without an oil cleanser. Believe me, I noticed a difference. I picked this cleanser up at the clean beauty store in downtown Guelph (I could not believe they had one) and it's been great so far. Given the difference in climates, I'm amazed my skin isn't dry and I definitely think this product is part of the reason why.
Smith Farms Gentle Foaming Cleanser:
I also picked this cleanser up at the clean beauty store here in Guelph, and have been very happy with it. This cleanser is super gentle, which is perfect for the cold weather I'm experiencing at the moment. I think if I was using a harsher cleanser my skin wouldn't be coping as well as it is with the weather.
ASAP Niacinamide Serum:
I haven't used a niacinamide serum in a while, because I ran out of mine back in Australia and didn't want to open my new one until I was in Canada. I swear, you can really tell a difference. This is definitely my favourite one I've used, and I'll most likely repurchase it.
EOS Lip Balm:
I'll admit it, this was an impulse purchase. I was waiting in line at the pharmacy and noticed this labelled as "natural". After checking the ingredients and confirming it did indeed have a decent list, I threw it in with my overpriced allergy medication (I'm not bitter at all about that). It's definitely come in handy, though, and has become one of my go-to lip balms.
Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm:
I'm a huge fan of this brand and their skin food line in particular, but I have to admit this product just didn't live up to my expectations. It doesn't do much to protect my lips from the wind or cold weather, but might work back home in different weather.
Go-To Zincredible Tinted:
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of this brand. As expected, this product did not fail me. It's so convenient and easy, which is exactly how I like my products to be. It's actually the only face base product I brought with me on exchange, and honestly I'd probably wear it in the place of more serious foundations now because I'm so used to it. This one's definitely on the repurchase list.
Ultra Violette Clean Screen:
I've been using this product on days when I don't feel like wearing any makeup, and though it's does it's job I probably won't repurchase it. I'd like to try another product or I'd just go back to my old faithful, the original Go-To Zincredible.
Oneka Body Lotion (Unscented):
I first used this lotion at one of the hotels my mum and I stayed at in Quebec City, and seriously considered buying it to take with me. I ended up deciding against it, but when I saw it at a store in downtown Guelph I took it as a sign. I will say that I've gone through the bottle way quicker than I anticipated, and will probably have to buy a replacement before heading home, so that's something to consider.
That's everything I've tried out in the past few months. Keep your eyes peeled for a blog post on my thoughts about clean beauty in Canada!
