Aussie Beauty Brands I Love

May 27, 2019

So I'm about to pack up and move across the country for four months. I've been thinking about what I'm going to take with me, and specifically the Aussie things I need to take with me. I'll be taking the biggest jar of Vegemite I can get my hands on, and of course a good-sized tin of Milo, but today we're talking beauty products. Here's some of the brands and products that have made it onto my list so far.

1. Go-To

Yes, everyone know how I feel about this brand because I mention them in pretty much every post I make. I use a lot of their products; they're affordable, clean and get the job done. Plus I like the colour pink. Honestly, the majority of my skincare routine consists of their products so I'm not going to list them all. Essentially, I haven't met a Go-To product I didn't love.

2. Frank Body

Another one of my top brands. They also put out affordable, clean and effective products. Can you tell that's the way to my heart? I've mentioned before that their face scrub is the only physical scrub I use on my face; but I'm a longtime fan of their body scrubs. Their A-Beauty Scrub is ending its run in November and you bet I've purchased a packet in preparation of that as well. I'm definitely packing that, plus my face scrub and lip balm.

3. Lanolips

I'm banking on Lanolips saving my lips from the cold weather I'm about to experience. Unfortunately, not all their products have fantastic ingredients; most of their creams contain phenoxyethanol. That being said, their lip treatments and some of their classic skin products are still great. I'm definitely taking my 101 Ointment with me and slathering it on when I go outside into the cold wind! I'm thinking of buying their Golden Dry Skin Salve to take with me but I haven't decided yet.

4. MooGoo

Ah, MooGoo. I'm so glad I stumbled across this brand. They state that they don't use ingredients like phenoxyethanol and encourage people to look into the ingredients in the products they use; truly a brand after my heart. I'm a big fan of their lip balms (I'll always get excited over a physical SPF lip balm) and will definitely look into getting some more products before I leave.

5. Aesop

Aesop Control is basically one of the best products I've ever discovered. It's an effective pimple treatment with good ingredients. It's a small tube for $25, but I've had it for months and there's a decent amount of product left so I'd say it's worth it. I'm also a big fan of their hand creams, and will need them in the cold!

6. Luma

I've just really started to look into my makeup and the ingredients in it. While all my skincare is now fairly clean, I still have a way to go with makeup. Just the other day I looked at my Luma Beauty Balm and Cheek & Lip Tint and realised they contained some not so desirable ingredients. Like I mentioned with Lanolips, not all of their products have the greatest ingredients. But one product of theirs I do really love is "the balm". It's great because it's lightweight but effective, and it's something I throw into my purse all the time.

7. P'ure

This is a product I truly just stumbled across. It was one of the products I received through a promotion at Priceline, and at first I blew it off as a bad Lucas' Papaw Ointment knockoff. But after reading the ingredients list and trying it out it's become of my favourite lip balms. I haven't tried any of their other products but I'm definitely taking their papaya lip balm with me!

8. Lucas' Papaw Ointment

Not pictured, but definitely something I'm taking. I've collected at least three tubs over the past few years, and packing one into my suitcase is a must. Perfect for cuts and scrapes, or helping pimples heal.
